EMDR & IFS Therapy for Parental Anxiety, Hypervigilance, & Nervous System Burnout
Hey! I’m Alexandra. I’m grateful you’re here.
I know what it’s like to live on high alert. That stomach-drop anxiety every single time your phone lights up with a call from the school. The exhaustion of drafting endless, carefully worded emails to teachers, coordinating therapies, managing sensory meltdowns, and walking on eggshells in your own home just waiting for the next crisis. Having four kids, including a neurodivergent child, I’ve lived the constant advocacy battle, the stress of navigating IEP meetings, and the loneliness of explaining a diagnosis to people who just don’t get it. On the outside, I was holding everything together. On the inside, my nervous system was fried, and I had lost all sense of who I was outside of being a mother.
Venting in traditional "talk therapy" felt nice for 50 minutes, but it didn't stop my heart from racing when an email notification popped up. It didn't heal the deep parental burnout or quiet my midnight racing thoughts. I realized I didn't need generic coping strategies, I needed deep, root-cause healing in my body and nervous system. That’s when I turned to targeted, trauma-informed modalities: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Processing those stored patterns transformed my life. Today, I no longer live in constant anxiety or survival mode. I can walk into an IEP meeting composed and grounded, advocate fiercely without losing my cool, process the hard days without spiraling, and respond to school updates from a place of calm authority. I found my way back to myself; resilient, grounded, and at peace.
Now, I’m committed to helping other moms find that exact same relief. I combine the brain-rewiring power of EMDR to process stored trauma and anxiety, with the deep self-compassion of IFS to heal the overburdened parts of you carrying the load. We don't just talk around your stress; we target where it lives in your nervous system so you can finally catch your breath and feel like you again.
As both a licensed therapist and a mom walking this exact path in my own home, I get it in a way a textbook never could. You don't have to carry this endless advocacy alone, and you don't have to sacrifice your health or identity to be a great mother. Let's get you out of survival mode and back into your life.
